Steampunk, Doll-ing

If I had to guess, I would say 3 out of 5 of my clients has asked me for something steampunk. A couple (a few?) years back I did some hats for dolls that were neo-Victorian or steampunk in styling.



Man-styled tophats, victorian lady hats, that sort of thing. I have always dressed my dolls in corsets, and sort of mid-to-late 1800s inspired styling that I have modernized to suit me.



Recently I have more or less embraced the styling entirely and I am trying to put more things in my shop that reflect that. The past week, I made steampunk goggles. They amuse the heck out of me.



I mean, they are entirely fun. They can be worn a number of ways (straight on the face, up on the hair, over hats). They photograph wonderfully, and they are just a whole lot of fun.



I hope to be putting more goggles in my store over time, and some other things that will go nicely with them. If you haven't checked out my store, please do. There might be something that catches your eye.

All the Little Dresses

Okay, I've said it before, but I have been busy. This week I made dresses and a couple hats and some other things.

Hopefully I will finish up 2 customized dolls as well. I wanted to show you the dresses that I made, because I need a color boost.

I love the color green, in fact acid green is my favorite color -- and I am not knocking at all the fact that Vermont is the greenest state I have ever seen. But, in my yard, it is pretty much only green, since I am a horribly lazy gardener.

Grass and tree green mostly. Very little in the way of flowers at all, except the stray bee balm that the sheep haven't eaten.

So here is some color to give me the boost I need. Hope you are all well!

What the Cool Girls are Wearing

I have a secret project going which I hope to fill everyone in on after the holidays.  These little tee shirts you see on my girls are related in some way.  Rose at Moon Rouge has allowed me to use this really wonderful image of her Blythe Goldie for the shirts you see here.  I think they turned out great.  In fact, I think they are so cool, I might make one for myself, but in a bigger size :)  Rock on, Blythe girls.  You have all the style!
